Code of conduct Volleybalvereniging Van Slag
At V.V. Van Slag we love sporting and cosiness. To guarantee a good atmosphere it is very important that everyone has a good understanding with each other, both inside as outside the court. Physical and social safety are of importance. Creating a safe environment for our members is certainly not only about the match- or training area; we want that our members feel safe everywhere. This includes the facilities of the sport centre Olympos, the sports bar included, plus the associations' activities and other events organized by V.V. Van Slag.
Therefore, V.V. Van Slag has composed a code of conduct which is mainly based on the code of conduct for sporters of the Centrum Veilige Sport Nederland (Centre of Safe Sports Netherlands).
The Van Slagger:
Is open. If you are asked to do something which is against your own feelings, norms and values, then report this, for instance at the board or one of the counselors. For questions or reports you can also go to the Centrum Veilige Sport Nederland. If you are asked to cheat in a game, then also report this to the board.
Respects others. You respect everyone. Respect your opponent(s), your teammates, the referee, your trainer and the spectators. Watch your language and how you present yourself to others. Give everyone the feeling that they can move freely.
Obeys the rules and respects the agreements. Read the regulations, internal rules, the code of conduct and all other agreements and ensure to respect those. Be on time, ensure to let your teammates know if you cannot play on time, listen to the instructions and follow the rules.
Do not touch others. Do not touch (besides normal sport activities) others against their will.
Do not affect anyone in their dignity. Don't make discriminating, belittling or intimidating comments or act like that. Do not exclude anyone and be tolerant.
Does not discriminate. Don't discriminate in terms of religion, ideology, political affiliation, race, gender, sexual orientation, cultural background, age or other characteristics.
Is fair and sportsmanlike. Do not cheat and do not use any kind of verbal or physical violence. Don't engage in matchfixing a match or the competition.
Respects the environment. Don't break things, respect each others' properties. Leave the sports hall and the changing room cleaned up. Tidy up any of the materials. Throw trash, such as plastic bottles, in the trash cans.
Report any violations of this code of conduct at the board or at the counselors. For questions and reports you can also go to the Centrum Veilige Sport Nederland. This can also be done confidentially.
